Week in Austin June 2012

After returning from Colorado Springs, I was SO excited to see the boys.  They came to the airport to pick me up around 6 pm on Friday night and this is how I found Caleb.  He was sound asleep in the Knight Costume TJ was letting him borrow for a few days.  He had a fun day in Georgetown with his cousins.    Craig drove in from Dallas that night to spend the weekend with us.
On Saturday morning, we went to Zilker Park with the Cowden Cousins and had SO much fun!
Train ride with the cousins!
Davis playing at the precious park
Lucy and Caleb playing
Lucy posing
Davis waving with Lucy's visor on
A popsicle to cool us down.  Love that these two are sharing
These kids were mesmerized by a pay phone--Lucy was asking some really great questions about why are there pay phones, who uses the pay phones, why do you have to pay, etc?
That afternoon, the Garcia cousins came over for a swim and we had a ball in Mimi and Papa's pool and had some yummy fajitas!
The 4 Garcia's on the Banana Boat
Caleb in the picture now
Davis' first swim this summer--he had a very short attention span to swimming
Love these boys!
After swimming and bath, Caleb and TJ still had energy to burn-running up and down the hallway
Now they are beginning to wind down
Well, maybe not--these two are two peas in a pod.  Caleb and Davis both basically put themselves to bed at 7 pm, ready to sleep! Sweet little sleepers!
Sunday night, we had dinner with a few of Julie's Sundancer friends and from high school and their mom's.  Julie's mom still gets together at least once a month with this group of ladies and it is so fun to see their bond from years ago. Sadly, didn't get a group picture this year but here are a few of Brandon (Alissa's precious boy) and Caleb, who were great buddies!  We missed Andi and Mrs. Davidson-next time!
We are playing a board game and silly using the board for a different purpose
Notice Caleb is wearing the Knight Costume again...he literally took it off and laid it next to his bed and that was the first thing he put on the next morning.  He wore it ALL week, anytime we were at Mimi and Papa's. Thanks TJ for sharing your fun costume!!!
Mimi and Papa had a special dinner guest.  The boys loved eating along side these beauties throughout the week
On Monday afternoon, we stopped by to see Aunt Megan, Aunt Lori and precious baby Ava (sadly, no pictures because Lori's house was not baby proofed and Davis was a little rambunctious).  Then we went to a friend of Julie's from high school, Kristen, and the boys had a blast playing.  Caleb and Landon are Super Hero Soul Mates-they were too cute in the many costume changes.  Davis had fun with sweet Collins!
Playtime with Mimi's sunglasses
Tuesday afternoon we walked over to play in the Walkers backyard.  Vicki is a great friend from Craig's Stanford GSB days, they live in Julie's neighborhood and have 2 adorable kiddos.  Yes, they have a splash pad in their backyard and our boys had a blast!!!
One of our last nights, Mimi took us to the mall to celebrate with Chick-fil-a and some ice cream!
Davis is getting pretty crafty...he moved the stool over to the table and climbed up to the table-he is a climber!
Davis loved splashing in the water
But, this is really what he thought about swimming-not a fan of prolonged pool time
We will post a blog of Caleb's week of swimming (and more).
We had a really great time in Austin and expected it to be hard, but Mimi and Papa were gracious hosts, huge helpers with the boys, and so generous with their time! Thank you for a great week!!!
