October 2013

Oh October...what a fun, busy, enjoyable, joy-packed month!! There were a ton of birthday parties, fun times outside in the beautiful weather, and some great memories. This is only a few months late and a tad LONG-sorry!
Love that Caleb and Davis purposely dress alike without my help.  They are such sweet buddies (most of the time) and love that Caleb is pushing his brother in the swing.

Mammy sent Avery a precious a turtle costume for Halloween and the boys loved squeezing into a 12 Month outfit and adorable at that!
Sweet Reece, in our Community Group, turned 4 and had a real firetruck come to his party and what a highlight it was!

Such cute kids at the party and many look like they are related.
Got to spray the water hose!!!!

We had a family date night and the kids did great at a real restaurant!

The boys are dressed alike for church and our traditional hamburgers for lunch after church.

Spiderman fell asleep for a nap
We bought Caleb a Sand Art Kit and he had fun pouring in a tiny bit of colored sand - one grain at a time.
Pretty impressive
I just love dressing up this doll baby

Visiting a little pumpkin patch near our house

Avery is just as active as her brothers and is tagging/tackling/hugging etc
We started leading a Foundation Group, newly married couples through our church.  We had 6 couples plus us, for a total of 14 people over for our first meeting and we made and served dinner.  Never hosted that many people before, so days leading up, I had an extra table up, set, and ready for our new friends.  The kids loved playing underneath it and thought it was their fort.  Sadly, I didn't get a single picture of the tables, our new group, or the meal.

Avery practicing her cheerleading moves during the TX/OU game

And catching a few glimpses of the great game

After Reece's firetruck party, the boys enjoyed being Fire Fighters and driving around in their Firetruck

Davis got a hold of the lotion container and slimed himself
The high school down the street from our house had a Homecoming Parade and we enjoyed watching it, waving, getting candy, and playing a little ball with the basketball team

The Back to the Future car
He did it again...We eventually learned to put the lotion container away
Fun playing at our church
We went to a Costume Birthday Party for our buddy Jake from our playgroup that turned 5, and Caleb wanted to be Incredible Hulk, so I attempted to Youtube how to paint a face and this is what I got! Nailed It-Ha-it was a Fail! Not artistic at all! He loved it though.
That is a ton of kids in costume on the playground.
All the Superhereos
Incredible Hulk and Bumblebee Transformer
Our little lady staying warm on the first chilly day of Fall
Lincoln, a playgroup buddy turned 5 and had a super fun bowling party.  It was the boys first time to bowl and they loved it
Caleb dressed himself for the party, very appropriate
The boys "Playing"

Avery riding on the back of a motorcycle with one of Caleb's buddy, Jake, hopefully it will be the first and the last time she rides on a motorcycle with a boy, an older boy, one of Caleb's friend, oh the list could go on...

Mimi came in town for a glorious week!!! She was such a HUGE HUGE HUGE help to allow us to see some private schools, open houses, doctor appointments, and enjoy a date night.  She not only watched the kids but selflessly served us, cleaned the house, and loved on all of us.  Thanks Mimi for your help! We loved our time with you and are grateful for you.
We stopped at Klyde Warren Park for a fun time on a chilly October day
Our boys didn't seem to mind the cold - crazy boys!

Daddy and the boys play Freeze Tag (or their own rendition of it) and this is Davis' precious face he makes when he is frozen.
Where do I even begin on the next part...Craig totally surprised me and swept me off my feet again.  Every month on the 25th, we acknowledge our monthly anniversary.  We make it a race to see who can say Happy __ Month Anniversary first!  Kind of silly but something we have done for the last 8+ years.

So, on the 25th of October, Our 100th Month Anniversary, Craig had a whole day/weekend planned and fortunately my mom was still in town and was there for the kids.  Date 1: He took me to Perry's Steakhouse for an AMAZING lunch of Pork Chops and Applesauce and gave me a beautifully written list of memories from our first 100 months together.

We also had a date night planned for the next night and beautiful pearl earrings and necklace to top off some wonderful surprises.

Mimi and the kids were at Klyde Warren again having lunch and enjoying another great October day.  Daddy stopped in for a quick visit before going back to work.

The elementary school in our neighborhood had a Halloween Festival and we thought it would be a great opportunity to check out the school and have some Halloween Fun.
Pony rides and pretty skies
Incredible Hulk Strikes again (and the face paint isn't much better round 2)

We had our family portraits taken and Avery and I were practicing our smiles
Charlie, a buddy from Caleb's soccer team, had a birthday party at a gymnastics place and the boys loved every minute of it.
Balance Beaming

Avery enjoyed playing too
This is the last picture I have of her crawling (sniff sniff). Just a few days later she began walking.  Avery chased this soccer ball all over the place
Daddy helped her bounce in the pit too
Caleb swinging on the rope into the pit
Davis lined up all the cars - very organized little guy!
The night before Halloween, I was putting a large picture frame away and the glass slid out and cut my right thumb.  It was my first time to ever have stitches, I had 8 stitches and was all wrapped up.  On Halloween, I asked if I could do the Pumpkin Gospel to Caleb's class.  Sadly, it didn't work out how I planned because I was in a lot of pain and couldn't get my hand all goopy, hold a knife, etc.  I was still able to go to Caleb's class but I had to modify my carving to using a marker.  Below is the picture of a friend of mine doing the Pumpkin Gospel! It is so cute and hopefully next year Ill be able to carve a pumpkin and share the gospel.
On Caleb's last game, he got a trophy.  Daddy and the boys put up new special shelves to display the new prized possession.  Love when the boys do projects together.

Caleb is so proud, so happy, and showed his trophy to anyone and everyone for weeks.
So that was our Outstanding October!  We are so blessed, grateful, and loved!
