Month 20 - May 25

The word for Caleb this month is goofy!! He has been so silly with his laughter, "jokes", wrestling/tackling/rough housing, and playful heart.  His favorite time of day is when Daddy comes home from work and they roll all over the floor giggling and playing.  It is a great way to end the day.  Enjoy a lot of pictures of what we have been doing this month:
Our neighbor's sister was in town visiting and she snapped some amazing pictures of Caleb.
At a patio furniture store, such a fun chair!  Too bad we don't have this on our patio.
We began the month with a nice trip to Austin so that Julie could perform in the Alumnae Dance with her friends that she grew up dancing with.  The Shirley McPhail School of Dance (SMSD) Performing Troupe had their Spring Show and brought back the "Has Beens" to show them how it used to be done.  It was a ton of fun and brought back a lot of fond memories.  During the weekend to Austin we were able to see Christalyn's softball game (she is a natural)!!!  Sad we didn't see one of TJ's games but maybe next year.

Caleb's at a ball game and he is pushing a pink baby doll stroller-too cute!
After getting worn out from pushing dolly around, Caleb had some cuddle time with "Papa" (which is just precious when Caleb says his name).  Papa begins at a very young age, teaching his grandchildren his name and Caleb has it down pat.
The girls Julie danced with.  It was a "Joyful, Joyful" Time!
Time with Great-Mimi
The girls in our Community group have been getting together for a play date in our church's "Mat Room."  The kids have a blast and the moms are able to talk a little.  It is so Fun!
Precious Braysen (at 6 months old)
The weekend after a wonderful Mother's Day, Caleb and Julie drove down to Austin again stopping in to be Christalyn's first clients with her new business.  She created a binder of pictures and was selling them in the neighborhood.  Christalyn made quite the dough in a few days (she is such an entrepreneur)!

Caleb was so goofy and coming behind Christalyn to "scare." What a laugh!
TJ was so sweet to play with Caleb during our visit in Georgetown.
Caleb's first taste of corn on the cob-he loved it!
Julie's cousin, Lisa's graduated from Texas State. Lisa is like a sister to Julie (don't you think they look similar) and will soon be 7th & 8th grade Math Teacher!!! Yeah!  We are so proud of you!

Caleb had had enough and was done but this is a cute picture of Lisa and her boyfriend, Matt.

That Sunday, we made it home for our church's HUGE baptism.  It was an amazing time with thousands of people having a party celebrating the public profession that over 200 people made that day.  One of Julie's sweet girls, Sarah, was baptised.  What a joyous occasion!  I am sure that the fun day we had is just a mere glimpse of the party God was having in Heaven.
After the worship music, testimonies, they opened up the grill, the sno-cones, bounce houses, and the party began.  Caleb was "ATTACHED" to a ball the entire time (we made the mistake of not bringing one for him to play with but people were nice enough to share).  Below are just a few pictures of Caleb trying to play soccer with the big kids.  He almost looked like Monkey in the Middle with no fear of the ball coming right after him.

We have been blessed to have a few friends come over for a play date to break in the new playscape.  We are sad we didn't get more pictures of our friends loving the backyard adventure but here is Colton enjoying a good time.  (Colton and Caleb are just 3 days apart and were born in the same hospital.  Funny thing was our due dates were 2 weeks later but we both went into labor early!  We are now in a playgroup with him and love watching these two grow together)
Precious Smashed face!
Caleb wants to do everything Daddy does!
Our Date Night-Craig surprised Julie by taking her to the Taste of Addison to enjoy yummy food and enjoy Bob Schneider and Train perform.
Nothing says summer like...Running through sprinklers (or touching it with your hands and running away from it).  Maybe later this summer when the water is warmer, Caleb will enjoy it more.
Caleb is now complete with his summer gear-Car keys, golf clubs, and a outie belly button for the world to see.

Zoo Fun!

On the Saturday of Mother's Day, Julie choose to go to the zoo as a fun family activity.  There were times that Caleb loved watching the animals and other times he would rather push his stroller or play in the gravel.  We loved how he would wave to every animal he saw! The Dallas Zoo is so much fun and we hope it is a great activity to enjoy many more times together.  Enjoy just a few pictures of our fun day:

The penguins-Caleb loved it especially when it made a crazy squeal noise at him for knocking on the glass.
I love Caleb's reflection in the alligator glass as he is waving his new sharp-toothed friend
Precious picture of two little monkeys watching the chimps.
Caleb had no fear being that close to the chimpanzee, as long as Daddy was close by
Look at the Momma Chimp with her little baby-perfect for a Mother's Day Zoo Trip
It looks like this kid enjoyed the zoo to with his traditional pose.
Considering this is the one we took at the Australia Zoo in July of 2007
Pure happiness waving at the animals
Waving to the people on the Tram
Pet the elephant-nice little guy...sad that we didn't see any elephants.  They are opening a new exhibit soon. Maybe next time!
Caleb's first experience with a bounce house-he loved it but wanted us to join him and it was only for kids.
Giant Turtles
Stretching to see the giraffe
...And we have lost his attention but he enjoyed pushing the stroller
Waving to the goats in the petting zoo
A little mid-morning snack
"I think I will just sit down right here and rest...maybe play in the gravel while I am here.  Is it nap time yet?"

The Five Love Language Weekend

On this wonderful Mother's Day, Craig and Caleb loved me in all 5 of the Love Languages and more!!!

We started the great weekend on Friday with Craig bringing home roses and groceries.
On Saturday morning we took Caleb to the Dallas Zoo for the first time and we all had a great time. (more pictures to come of this day)

Sunday began with breakfast in bed (Biscuits and Gravy) and Caleb took such pride in bringing it to me.  I wish I could have taken a picture of how proud he was to help out.  After church, Craig made the most amazing lunch, Lobster Risotto.  The rest of the day was very relaxing and wonderful family time!
Here are a few of the ways that I felt loved this weekend by my incredible husband and sweet son:
Words of Affirmation- sweet cards pouring out so much encouragement and love
Quality Time- the whole weekend devoted to being together
Gifts- A new kitchen faucet-YEAH!!!!, roses, and cards
Acts of Service-I didn't change one diaper on Sunday and Caleb gave Daddy 2 special packages to change, plus the yummy meals, grocery store trip, dishes, and cleaning through out the weekend, so much more
Physical Touch-Mother's Day ended with a nice massage before bed
Thank you so much for such a special second Mother's Day!
I love being a mom and I have a deeper understanding of how God views me.
I love our son so much and I am so proud and honored to be his mom.
It helps me understand how God views each of us.
