April 2011

Oh what another fun month!  Caleb has been super sweet and has had more tantrum-free days this month than the past few.  We bragged about him turning 2 1/2 years old and being a different child (and then the next day, he made a liar out of us-wow how our children can humble us).  We have been able to do some really fun things now that we are back in the swing of normal life.

Enjoy ALL the pictures of this month:
Caleb has been quite adventuresome with slides these days-which is great because for the longest time he was a little timid of them.  (Speaking of which, he is now in a new phase of being "scared" of things-loud things (vacuums, lawn mowers, blender, mixer, etc.), big things in books (giants, bears, etc)).
Our Punkin Love
Brother Love! (Caleb loves holding Davis)
Our first time to church with our family of four
Davis is excited for big church-Julie had to feed him during church but he sure did sleep well during the loud worship music
Watching the Master's with Daddy, wearing his "Daddy's Future Caddy" onesie
A new favorite position Davis likes, sitting up between the cushions of the couch
Caleb's new crazy smile and eyes-Silly boy!

Lindsey, Lauren's Sister
Hollis, one of Julie's girls
Shelly, a friend from church
We went to the flight museum with a friend from our playgroup, Amy and Caroline.  We had so much fun!
It is almost as if they are making sure they are not flying into any birds
We have had some crazy weather this month-from 90+ degree days to 40 degree days to rain, crazy thunderstorms and hail-see the pile of hail on our front porch
And with all the crazy weather, we have had some serious wind.  Part of our beautiful 17 year old Bradford Pear was blown down.  We are going to get an arborist to come look at it but we think they are going to suggest we take the whole tree down-so sad!  Bradford pears aren't supposed to last this long but still so sad.  Fortunately, a month ago, Craig trimmed up the tree or else it could have been bad if it fell on the house.
Craig worked SO hard one Saturday afternoon in pulling up the old grass that got a disease last summer and never really came back and planted new sod.  It was back breaking work and he did such a great job.  I am so proud of how hard he worked, the dedication he had in doing a job to the best of his ability, and continuing to find ways to improve our house.  I am so glad that Caleb was out there "helping" his Daddy and got a front row seat at the wonderful man his Daddy is.  (Craig also planted Julie some beautiful flowers but I can't find the pictures of them).

Easter Weekend in Austin

We love this time of year and love that we were able to spend it in Austin.  We were able to enjoy the time really soaking in the sacrifice of our Savior and His Glorious resurrection. We are humbled every time we think about it and although we feel very undeserving, we gladly accept the gift and can't imagine our life without Christ.  Jesus is Risen, He is good, and His blessing are new each day...
We drove down to Austin on Thursday afternoon and stayed at Mimi and Papa's.  We played at their house most of the day on Friday and walked down the street to a fun park.

We headed to spend the rest of the weekend at Mammy and MeDad's and went to another park that afternoon.

"Open your eyes for the picture" and I got it!
We get some of the best smiles from Davis in the car seat

Three generations
Davis and Caleb's 1st bath together-we thought it was safe enough since it is a mini swimming pool.  They did great and we look forward to many more bathtimes together.
On Saturday we went to the driving range and hit some golf balls with MeDad.
On Saturday afternoon Mimi and Papa threw a wonderful Easter Party at the Park for our family.  We had great food, wonderful memories with cousins, a fun Easter egg hunt, and burning a ton of energy.  Thank you, Mimi and Papa, for all your hard work in putting together a fun family day.

Caleb looks up to TJ so much-it is really precious and TJ is SO good with him
Davis' 1st egg
On Sunday before heading to church, Caleb was reading to Davis and they were both laughing and smiling.  Too cute!
We went to Austin Stone (Aunt K10 and Uncle Allen's church).  It was held in the Frank Erwin Center--it was incredibly breathtaking to see close to 8 or 9 thousand people worshipping the Lord.  The service was really good and Caleb "ylikes that church."  Davis liked it too, for that was his first time to go to the "nursery" during church.
We then went over to the Cowden's house and had another yummy meal, wonderful conversations, an Easter egg hunt, and more cousin memories.  Thanks Mammy, MeDad, and K10 for all your hard work.
Luke designed, constructed, and made all the table decorations, I wonder where he gets his creativity!
Caleb is SO good at giving his eggs away to his cousins.  This is something we have been working on, sharing our things (especially the prized possesion of an egg).  We have had some great lessons on teaching what the Lord blesses us with, we should turn around and bless others.
Do you think he looks happy?
Our super traveler, that spends a large amount of his time in the car seat-so flexible and so happy!
