A 90th Birthday Party

Julie's Grandmother (Mimi Kreiger, Lillian) turned 90 years young on Friday, November 26th.  So instead of singing Happy Birthday to her with our Pumpkin Pie on Thanksgiving, Julie's parents and aunt threw her a surprise birthday party the weekend before.  She was so surprised and we are grateful she didn't get overly excited (if you know what we mean).

We practiced the whole way down from Dallas, being quiet and saying "surprise!" Caleb LOVED it!
Mimi's faces are priceless

Mimi's children, Julie's Dad and Aunt
Kracker/Dadda was very busy entertaining the kiddos during the party-he came up with some of the best games (as always).

We couldn't have a 90th Birthday Party without some wheelchair races!!  Just kidding, this picture was taken after the party while we were cleaning up.  A little foreshadowing of what is to come...
The Whole Family
Mimi, Bob, and her 5 great grandchildren
A family picture (Julie at 29 weeks)
Many people would comment at how much Julie resembles Mimi.  I pray to someday look half as good as she does at 90 years old!
It was a lovely party with sweet friends, neighbors, family that all came to celebrate the wonderful woman Mimi is.

October Catch Up

October came and left very quickly and here we are almost finished with November - so here are some pictures to document what we did in between the weekends out of town.

Caleb was insistent on wearing Daddy's Train Conductor hat to church (yes, this hat was Craig's when he was younger).  Such a stylish (gangsta) looking kid!

Just watching some football
The weather is beautiful and a perfect day for the Arboretum
Caleb loves the petting zoo

Strong, little man!
Caleb loves to jump (without holding on to anyone) and he lands them perfectly
The hat is back, love the pose
Caleb has become quite the little soux chef and Mommy's little helper
At MOPS a few months ago he planted a seed and has loved watching it grow to be a beautiful plant (vine)
Caleb loves putting his hands/toys/treats in his pockets
Our neighborhood park had an arts festival that we were finally able to walk down the street and check it out.  Caleb loved the chalk board.
Thanks Ezell family for passing down such a fun tricycle
We are at Ms. Jessica's annual TX/OU party.  Caleb loved the ice from the snow cone machine!

Caleb loved this game and caught on really quickly
Our high school students had an event called, The Draw, a fun country western party. (Julie is 23 weeks pregnant)
Fun at the Zoo

Caleb played with this spider web thing for at least an hour.  It was pretty entertaining
Love this guy!  He is in such a fun stage being a sponge to new words (bulk trash, bulldozer, just to name a few).

Trick or Treat, I have Monkey Feet

Caleb had so much fun going trick or treating with kiddos in our community around our neighborhood, plus it was a great way to spend the last night of 9 with Mimi.  Thankfully, we had professional Trick or Treaters in our group that Caleb was able to follow their example of holding out your bag, (saying trick or treat we didn't really get this year), then saying thank you or "tank tou" as you walk back down the sidewalk with your new treats.
We started weeks before Halloween practicing wearing this new thing.
Daddy helped get him ready-not sure anyone would give that monkey any candy
We think Caleb really enjoyed being a monkey, so much so he was eating the banana
2 pirates and a monkey
The Gummelt Family with a mermaid and the most precious pirate ever!  (Sad, we didn't get a family picture of us)
First house!
Not even slowing down for a photo op (it was a little warm that night, therefore we passed up on the precious monkey pants)
Watch out Julie is smuggling pumpkins in her shirt
Caleb has the hang of this
It was really warm and this is how we ended the night with Daddy wearing the costume so Caleb stayed cool enough.

Another Fun Weekend

Upon Julie's arrival back to Austin from the Boston vacation, Julie brought home Mimi to stay the week with us while Craig was in Boston and to watch Caleb again while we went on a high school retreat with our Sophomore students at church.
Here are a few pictures of  the happenings during that week and weekend:
Caleb has a new fascination with his diapers and pulls them out of his drawer and plays in them.
Caleb and Mimi playing
Also, a fascination with blue surgical gloves, thanks to Cori for leaving them at our house after tie-dying.  He literally wore them for 2 days straight (minus sleeping in them) but eating, bathing, playing, and all.
On Saturday morning, Mimi was nice enough to take Caleb to his buddy Cade's 3rd birthday party at the Flight Museum.  Here is Caleb and the birthday boy flying a plane together!
Needless to say, Caleb LOVED it!

Hideaway Retreat with our Sophomores-Julie's girls ready to play flamingo football (they creamed the guys, by the way-maybe because the boys had their legs tied together)
A very hot referee
Craig and his guys at the Halloween Party dressed as "Frat Boys"
Julie's Girls dressed for Halloween
Craig as a "1970's Frat Boy" and Julie as a chef with a Bun in the Oven- wording on her recipe card says, " Bake with Care!  Cook Time remaining 14 weeks. Take out on February 2nd"
3rd weekend in a row of pure fun - not to mention our Halloween night with our Little Monkey (Stay Tuned)
