2 months - March 31

Our little guy is so fun!  Sometimes we forget Davis is even there because he is so quiet, content, and blends in with our craziness and other times which are few and far between-he is so vocal you wouldn't miss him.  At his 1 month appointment he was 11 pounds 9 ounces (90%) and 22 3/4 inces long (90%).  At his 2 month appointment today he was 13 pounds and 3 ounces ( 90%) and 24 inches long ( 90%).

Davis is a great sleeper at night.  We realized around 5 weeks that if we don't wake him up for his "dream feed" before we go to bed, he sleeps better and doesn't wake up until 4 am-ish.  So we usually feed him around 8 and he sleeps 8 hours.  Lovely!!  (Sadly, Julie doesn't always benefit from that much sleep).  One precious night last week he slept 12 hours and he slept 11 hours last night!!! We really can't complain with our big sleeper!

Love this precious little boy!

March 2011

We have still spent a lot of time at home due to the high levels of cold/RSV/flu around here.  We go to the park a lot, play in the backyard, and are slowly venturing out into public again.  Crazy that Caleb is officially 2 1/2 years old.  It seems like he has grown up a ton in the last few weeks, from his vocabulary expanding to his indepence to the obedience and cooperation.  Such a fun stage of life we are in and we are so blessed!
This has been a fun month with our boys-see the pictures to be a part of the action:
Davis spends a lot of time here,
here,  (crazy position he is in)
and here.  (The bouncer is out of big brothers reach which makes for a happy mommy.)
This is our space ship and Captain Caleb is flying us to the moon (or is Caleb's new buddy, Alphie)!
"Hey everybody, I am just chillin' in my diaper"
Caleb likes to help with our weekly pictures-he also wants to hold Davis and pose for the camera too.
Caleb is slowly learning how to play and love his brother gently.  Caleb thought his brother needed some shades.
This is the lovely masterpiece of mess that Caleb made while Julie was feeding Davis (it was quite entertaining for 30+ minutes and the 30+ minutes it took to clean up.)  Caleb has loved making piles these days.  Piles of toys, pillows, animals, anything he can get his hands on goes in the pile.
LOVE this smiley boy!
A different background to show his complexion better (we think he still has a little jaundice because he is way too tan for our family).
Bath time
Sweet friends brought over our favorite pizza, Brothers!! These boys are SO excited and devoured it quickly!
Caleb can dress himself now and picks out some pretty crazy outfits.  We are incredibly grateful to receive the box loads of clothes from older cousins!! (Thanks Geezs)
Caleb is saying "Yes I Can" from Bob the Builder!  Too cute!
This is a shirt that we put Caleb in for his "Birth Announcement/Christmas Card".  Can you tell which one is Caleb? Hint: Look for a different background but boy, do they look similar.

Craig's 36th Birthday

A few weeks ago we were able to celebrate Craig!!  Caleb LOVES birthdays (he says Happy Jesus Day-we think it is because we talked about Jesus' birthday so much at Christmas time that we are guessing he thinks it is Jesus' Day-too cute!)
Caleb and Mommy did what we could to make Daddy's day super special but with a 1 month old it was a little challenging.  We made Daddy the world's ugliest cupcake cake!  It was Daddy's favorite, strawberry with no icing-he doesn't like icing-therefore we could not cover up the mistakes of it falling apart in the back.  The candles don't match and we ended up throwing most of it away because I didn't refrigerate it and it had whip cream in the center.  Anyways, we had a wonderful, relaxing weekend with many of Craig's favorite foods and finished the weekend with a date night for incredible sushi.
We couldn't not be happier and blessed with the husband, daddy, best friend, comedian, coach, entertainer, teacher, counselor, leader, prayer warrior, spiritual head of our household, financial adviser, generous, loving, athletic, thoughtful, strategic, outgoing, gentle, humble, energetic, handsome, intellegient, hard-working, stellar, mindful, considerate, and flat out AMAZING guy!!  God blessed our family with this wonderful 36 year old!  We all love you!

February 2011

Where did the month go?  It was a fun month with lots of transistions, new things (Davis), family, fun, crazy weather, and beautiful weather.  Caleb's has grown up so much this month.  He has a whole new vocabulary and adds to it daily.  Along with making very long sentences.  Our little boy is filling the roll of a big brother!!

Here is what we have been doing this month:
Caleb's new favorite thing is to go to the mall and play on the riding toys-he doesn't like them to run but he likes to climb in and out, pretend he is driving, he even brings his keys to the mall.  Another fun activity is riding the escalator up and down.

Daddy and Caleb being silly with Mommy's birthday present (a cupcake cake pan)!
Davis' first day home-in his big boy bed!!
All dressed up for our Longhorns!
Caleb's favorite color these days is orange and wears it constantly.
Caleb is "going bye bye"- probably to the mall or church to play ping-pong with the big boys. Notice "his baby Davis" is in the car too.
This is how we spent some of the cold days inside-We brought every pillow in the house and piled them in the living room.  It was so much entertainment--we read books, had a picnic lunch, hid, climbed, wrestled, and much much more.  (Do you see Caleb peeking through?)

MeDad and Caleb playing golf.
MeDad wearing Caleb's sunglasses.
Caleb has recently become very attached to ALL his stuffed animals and drags them all over the house.
Playing with Mammy
Taking a walk with MeDad- I just love this picture!
Such a big boy on his scooter.
All smiles with Mimi
Special treats from Mimi
It has become a nightly routine for Daddy to pile every animal on top of Caleb.  Don't worry he doesn't sleep like this-he moves around way too much!
Mimi took Caleb to the mall and he got to ride the real train-he is loving it!
At MOPS Caleb learned to Listen and Obey!  A constant pray and words for our active 2 1/2 year old.
Daddy had a special treat/surprise for no reason!! A date night at home-we enjoyed a yummy lobster.  He and Caleb went to pick it out (Caleb didn't so much like seeing it alive, moving around and then cooked and on our plate).  But boy was it tasty!!!  Thanks Love for a wonderful date night treat!
What a great month with our 2 boys!!
