Austin Trip and Swimming Lessons

The kids and I traveled down to Austin for our annual "week-long" visit and for the boys to take swimming lessons.  Our first stop was to see the Garcia's.  Avery had fun being passed around and jumped into Uncle Tony's arms.  Avery was well loved and the boys, as always, had a blast with their cousins.

We got to stay at Great-Mimi's house.  The week we were there just so happened to be the week they were demolishing 2 homes across the street.  Papa was kind and spent many mornings watching them.
Monday morning we had a fun treat by picking up 2 precious punkins for the day.  We had Sarah and Faith for the day and it was a blast!
There was ice cream
And swimming together (no pictures of the swimming-a little too chaotic)
On Tuesday, Cousin Lisa and Matt came to visit

Avery learned to stand up on her own
We were sitting on the back porch and a family of deer walked right behind us-love the nature in Austin

We got to see Sarah and Faith one last time on Thursday before we left

Caleb had to do a breathing treatment the week were there

We were also able to visit Great Mimi at her assisted living center

Mimi was mesmerized by how small Avery was-it was cute!

We had more "swimming lessons" by Mimi and Papa in Great Mimi's neighbor's pool.  It was Avery's first time to swim.  She enjoyed it but hit a point of only wanting to be held my me.

Our "week" in Austin this year was just a few short days.  Daddy came in on Wednesday night to see the boys last day of swimming on Thursday (a power lesson of almost 2 hours) before heading to Horseshoe Bay for a long weekend!
Caleb's now tall enough to touch the bottom of the pool and stay in the water

Davis struggled more than I thought he would.  He cried a lot, needed a towel to comfort him, wore my sunglasses to help him see the other kids practice, and would have a sweet, whispering tone and smile

This was Caleb's face when he realized he swam that far on his back

Davis would freeze (not kick) under the water.  He eventually got it but it had to be on his timetable.
His sweet "sank em" (thank you) to Ms. Pam when he cried out of the water

Last Day of Swim Lessons
A special visitor that joined us (didn't get pictures of Mammy, Mimi, Papa, and Avery also visiting throughout the week). Thanks for coming and cheering them on!  They loved having a cheering squad!

On the last day of swimming, there was a beautiful and unique rainbow.  It was only in a small section of the sky.  Pretty cool!

Such a great 4 days with Ms. Pam! It is great to see the improvement during those few days and even with Caleb throughout the past 3 years.
We had a fun week and wish it could have been longer.  We were ready to be home and missed Daddy.  We also wish that we could have seen more of our friends that we don't normally get to see on our whirlwind weekend trips.
