August 2012

Another month that just flew by...We spent a little bit of time outside (since it wasn't brutally hot like it is most Augusts), we nested/cleaned/prepared a TON, Davis had a stomach bug that lasted the majority of the month and a virus at the end of the month-poor guy, we played in the water to stay cool, and took a few pictures getting familiar with our new camera. (sorry there are so many and out of order!)

We "broke" the rules and took a quick 24 hour trip to Austin (when Julie was 36 weeks) praying that she wouldn't go into labor away from home.  But it was all worth it to see a sweet friend of Julie's from college get married.  It was a beautiful reception and we had a great night out.
Sweet sorority sisters...Kelly and Darby
Mammy and MeDad made the quick 24 hours so fun for the boys.  Mammy had a special movie and popcorn for Caleb to watch in bed.  It was really nice, that Craig and Julie ended up taking a nap!
Davis got to enjoy the fun too before taking a nap
Davis trying to catch a quick sip of water
"Cheese"
Caleb's turn for some water
"Ready, Aim, Fire"-these boys have quite the kick
Naked in fireman rain boots-Doesn't get much cuter than this
Caleb went to Chuck E Cheese for the first time to celebrate a buddy from school/church.  He had a blast and hasn't stopped talking about it.  Jake and Caleb playing some games together
Mmmm...Pizza, Caleb's favorite
Score!
Davis had a blast too
Still having a blast-so much fun he wouldn't sit still
He loved the basketball
Caleb's FAVORITE game-spraying water into a tiny hole.  He was surprisingly really good at this.  Happy Birthday Canon-thanks for a fun birthday!!
Caleb really wanted to go to Tutti Frutti (a yogurt place by our gym) and so we created a sticker chart/behavior chart and this was one of his rewards along the way for 1) obeying right away, all the way, and in a happy way, 2) sharing, 3) having a good tone of voice, and 4) self-control.
He was so happy and loved sharing his reward with his brother
Davis really LOVES shoes and takes them ALL over the house
And is such a silly boy
These two are becoming such good friends
We took advantage of JCPenney's free haircuts in August and they CHOPPED Davis hair so much they had to shave the back of his neck.  The price was right and the good news is they won't need a haircut for a while.
Caleb was a little uncertain about his haircut but ended up having a great time
Ta-Da - who wants a chili bowl!
Davis is becoming quite adventuresome and immediately climbed to the top of the Chick-Fil-A playscape.  He went up and down a few times and then flipped out and pregnant Julie had to climb up and get him.
Our little artists
Julie had seen some neat things on blogs/pinterest about having a glow-in-the-dark bath time--it was so fun but didn't know how to use the camera in the dark.
One of Craig's friends from high school was in town with his wife and kids.  This is the best picture we could get of the boys, Lucy, and Gavin (Craig's Godson)
Davis' fun shirt- getting ready for his sister
Silly Daddy!
Super Caleb
Super Davis
Love a sleeping babe!
Davis LOVES rice and it was ALL over him
Cheese!
That is a mouthful
So adventurous
Splish Splash
Weeeeeeee...discovered that it is so fun to slide into our baby pool
Davis is encouraging and clapping for his brother sliding into the pool
What a kick!
Davis thought he could handle it and I was able to do it enough times holding his hands that I stepped away to snap a few pictures.  He loved it!!
Splash!
Daddy came home a little early and jumped in the pool too.  LOVE his expression of being splashed in the face!
Precious Boys!
Peek a boo
Dressed in Green, ready for church
We have a Sunday after church tradition--burgers and milkshakes. The boys are ready to pray for their meal!
Another fun bath activity-colored shaving cream
How did he know that shaving cream goes on your face?
Having fun painting themselves
Painting the tub
Caleb being mom's BIG helper as she nests
Watching sports together (there must be someone wearing a hat/helmet because Davis is patting his head)
Craig has been trying to get tickets to take Caleb to see the Rangers again this summer.  He finally got some great tickets from work 3rd row on the 3rd base side of homeplate!! What a treat!
Caleb loved the special daddy time, the hot dog, the ice cream in a hat cup, and the exploring they did.
They explored so much that they went up to the very top of the stadium and Caleb had a blast up there.
Here they are at their seats
What special memories for these two!  Fortunately, there was no nose dive like last year's game.  Thanks Daddy for a fun night!
Caleb and Daddy had a special afternoon during Davis nap playing in the pool
Love the expression the camera captured of Craig flying over the side of the pool
Sweetness-goggles on!
They were too cute
Goggles off
A few more action shots-sorry there are so many
We loved this last special month as a family of four!  We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little girl, anyday now!  Thanks for your prayers!
