Boston Vacation - October 23-26

Craig had a work conference in Boston, so we decided to make a vacation/babymoon the weekend before the conference began.  Julie drove Caleb down to stay with Mimi and Papa, met Craig in Boston and enjoyed 4 days and 3 nights of it just being the two of us.  It was great to get away but we missed our little guy so much.  The weather was pretty chilly and the fall foliage was just beautiful.  There is so much history from cemetries, churches, museums, libraries, restaurants, parks, buildings, and statues.  It is so much fun to travel with eachother and explore with no agenda.  Not to mention Boston is such a romantic city and a perfect place for a get away.  Craig did a great job planning dinners and evenings out, including a comedy show called Shear Madness.

A yummy pastry place we went to twice that has incredible ricotta cannolis

An outdoor market that we bought a ton of fruit for a few dollars, but probably not the most sanitary place (check out the piles of garbage/discarded food behind Craig)
Night 1--Saturday
Faneuil Hall Marketplace
Day 2-Sunday, the day we walked ALL over the city-the harbor just outside both of our hotels
Old State House
Old Granary Burial Ground  where many famous people are buried, Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, John Hancock, Benjamin Franklin's family - just to name a few
Boston Common just after a rainfall where we sat in a gazebo with 50+ high school dressed in thespian costumes

One of the most beautiful libraries we have ever been inside (Boston Public Library)

Sunday night dinner-we ate very well and had some incredible tasting dishes
Last night at the Westin overlooking the city
Monday at our new hotel, Intercontinental-pretty cool how the bedroom opened up to the bathroom
It was finally some what warm enough so we could get a non-jacket picture.  We are outside our hotel and overlooking the harbor near the Boston Tea Party Ship (Julie in the 25th week of pregnancy)
Our afternoon ferry ride (probably the worst day of weather to go but pretty neat how the fog is rolling in)
Clock Tower
As much fun as we had Caleb was have twice the fun we did as he was with Mimi and Papa.  On Saturday they went to a Halloween Festival at Aunt Jen's church with his cousins and had a BLAST (sadly, no pictures).  Then, we went over and played with them and had a lunch date with Mammy.  Such a fun weekend for him too!  Thank you Mimi and Papa for allowing us to do this, making it work, and loving our son while we were away.
Playtime with Sarah, Christalyn, TJ, and Faith

Caleb is enjoying the treats that were brought home from Mike's Pastry
