San Francisco Vacation -- July 31 - August 3

We just returned from a wonderful 4 days and 3 nights in beautiful, sunny California. One of Craig's friend from Stanford was getting married in Napa Valley. It was wonderful to be out of the heat, see old friends, and laugh a ton. We really tried to absorb every minute of this so-called "last vacation" before our family grows.

Thursday night we stayed with some friends in Mountain View (just minutes from the school Julie taught at). Friday we drove about 2 hours up to Napa to a gorgeous hotel. The wedding was Friday evening on the hillside of Napa and the reception was held in an amazing winery cave! (All the Californians were very warm- it was all of 84 degrees.) There was a crazy dance party after the awesome dinner- full of blinking glasses, glow wands, and flip-flops for added comfort. (Craig found a new, fun feature on our camera).

Exhausted we headed back to San Francisco to have lunch with Craig's cousin, Jamee, who is getting married August 16 but sadly we can't go because something about the hazards of flying that close to your due date. Saturday night we continued to see more friends, eat some great pizza, and explore some beautiful sights of the city with our friend Al.

Maybe you will recognize that we are taking a picture in Alamo Square Park, where the Full House cast is taped having a picnic in the opening credits of the show. The "Painted Ladies" are a row of Victorian houses that were built between 1892 and 1896. Julie wanted to run along the grass of the Tanner's "yard" and sing the theme song "Everywhere you look," but it was slightly on the chilly side. Speaking of Julie's obsession with Full House, here is a little fun fact for other closet Full House junkies; Julie was sad to discover the red-doored Victorian where the Tanner's live is NOT one of these beautiful houses. The actual location of the house is 1748 Broderick. Interesting Fact I Know!!

The below pictures goes to show how much fun we were having!! Craig was crazy and tried to lift all of one hundred and blank pounds of Julie and nearly broke his back. He truly is very strong but something about a laughing, moving, pregnant woman makes it hard to hold still for the camera. Speaking of hard to hold...Julie and her bladder these days.

Sunday, we went to church with Al and said our good-byes to the incredible weather of Cali and said hello to 107 degree heat in Dallas!!
