December 2013

December is always so busy but here were our day to day activities/pictures.
It still breaks my heart to be reminded of Sweet Avery's hands and all that she/we went through those few months.

We had to feed her because her hands are all wrapped up
Our little princess

We just got home from the doctor/burn specialist/occupational therapist and Avery got new splints for her hands.  They were great for clapping
Her little splints didn't prevent her from being her normal joyful self
She still managed to play by carrying toys around with her mouth

We went to a birthday party at the park (dressing her was tough because I couldn't change her bandages by myself, so she often wore the same thing she slept in the night before when Craig was home to help me).  Avery found a Hulk Hand, which I thought was the perfect protection for her sweet little hands

And a helmet which also makes this nervous momma happy
Mr. Hammack's cool scooter
Pinata Time-Caleb and Davis were the boys that KNOCKED the candy out

Their goods
Caleb's second loose tooth
Because of everything that we have been through (Caleb's nose, My stitches on my thumb, Avery's stitches) we changed Davis surgery from January to end of December for insurance purposes.
Sweet Boy-before the silly juice
After the silly juice and he was silly!!
Poor guy after his little procedure was a little confused

Happy Boy with a Gatorade
After his little procedure we gave him an early Christmas present to help lift his spirits
A scooter

Because we were traveling for Christmas, we gave a few more presents early
Caleb got a Nerf Gun

Avery enjoying using her hands to squeeze her bubba

Cheese Face
The new hat we "stole" from Craig's White Elephant Gift Exchange at work
The Gift Card Tree for Caleb's teacher
Avery being able to have "Hand Time"
My mom, the kids, and I drove down to Austin early for Christmas and enjoyed a celebration of Marla Valk, my drill team director from High School.  She retired and they had a surprise party to celebrate her and her years of leading the team to success.  She looks so young, you cant even tell which one she is with my group of friends.  Marla is the the one in black leggings next to me!!
New Christmas Present from Mimi and Papa-Power Rangers!!
A birthday party for sweet Ava
Ms. Hollis was in town and came by to see us.  We were all so excited to see her

Eating our Gingerbread Houses

Playing during Daddy's "no more kids"procedure

Daddy reading to the kids during his 3 days in bed after his procedure
A silly game with Daddy in bed (and cards to help him feel better)
While Daddy couldn't do much but rest, the boys had a great idea to help him rake leaves

And of course, working hard leads to playing hard

Sweet!

A great group shot

More reading with Daddy-love how Avery cuddles with him/looks at him with such admiration

Decorating our Giant Gingerbread Men
Climbing Trees-always safe with a helmet

Avery managed to get her bandages off and was so pleased to be playing, I couldn't get too upset that she made a huge mess out of the soil in the plant

Cuddles
We LOVE our Christmas Cards and leave them up for MONTHS.  The kids love pointing out friends, recognizing family, praying for our loved ones, etc.
Our Christmas Tree
Mantle and Stockings
My favorite part of our Christmas decorations, our Nativity collections

The table
LOVE December and all the fun things we did, even if there were a few extra surgeries, doctors appointments, and bandages.  We had a blast and loved our December!!!
