Big Boy Bed!

So the past few months we have been preparing for the BIG move!!! We bought bunk beds shortly after finding out we were having a second boy and the rest has just fallen into place and still is. 
Since, the pieces of the bedroom were slowly coming together-we were able to talk a lot to Caleb about the move and the BIG responsibility in a BIG boy bed!

This past Friday came and his room was ready enough and Caleb was SO excited.  (If we would have waited for every last decor, picture, lamp, etc to be in place-Caleb may have waited for years.)  Night 1-did SO incredibly well and only cried out 2 times from being scared of a new place (we think).  Night 2- he managed to wiggle his way out of bed (the 10 inches) on either side of the bed rail and fall on the ground twice.  Not a fun feeling as parents to see your little one on the ground.  We rearranged the bed rail and Night 3 and 4 he only woke up once.   Last night, we finally put our foot down and told Caleb that he is a big boy and he didn't need us coming in to rock you back to sleep. So, he woke up once and was back asleep in minutes.  Naps are going great so far, Caleb is still loving the big move. 

Thanks to Shanna for giving us her comforter which started off the theme of his room...Sport Balls-of course!! Thanks to Mammy for finding a matching comforter. Thanks to the Lambs for passing down their dresser. Thanks to a great, supportive husband for helping pull the room together.  Thank you Lord that Caleb is doing so well!  Please help us pray that this continues to be a smooth transition. 

So Much to be Thankful For

For Thanksgiving this year, we were able to celebrate with both of our families.  We drove into Austin and stayed at Julie's parent's on Wednesday night had an incredible lunch with Julie's side of the family, 21 people to be exact.  The kids didn't mind the drastic drop in temperature as they continued to play outside throughout the day.  What a great day with incredibly yummy food and great people.

That afternoon we headed south to Craig's family's Ranch to spend the rest of the weekend with them. We LOVE the Ranch but there is something about spending holidays there, it just feels right. We had a wonderful full day on Friday, enjoying all God created with our wonderful family.

We decided to break the drive up and head back to Austin on Saturday afternoon.  We were then able to have dinner with Julie's parents and Mimi and enjoyed dessert at Craig's parent's where we stayed the night and enjoyed some much needed r & r from all the traveling.  (Julie looks like she ate very well over the Thanksgiving weekend-at 30.5 weeks)

We left Austin early on Sunday to beat the traffic heading north and had a productive afternoon at home.  It was a whirlwind of a Thanksgiving but so much fun and our last road trip for a long time-it was worth it!

We do have so much to be thankful for and are blessed each and everyday the Lord gives us.

PS--So Sad-Julie left our camera at home (actually Julie left it outside for an entire week-oops but fortunately it still works) and the smaller camera Julie carries in her purse didn't have a battery charge.  We had the replacement batteries for the other camera but not the smaller one.  SO SAD!!! So the pictures we have our limited--still kicking myself.  Thanks to Julie's Mom for developing the top 2 pictures and snail mailing them to us...we can now post our blog. The rest of these pictures are from Craig's phone-not too bad (just ignore Julie's finger in the upper right hand corner of many of the pictures)!

32 week check up

We had our 32 week check up and another Level 2 sonogram.  This little guy, we should say big guy is already weighing 4 pounds 14 ounces (98%).  They want us to have another sonogram again at 37 weeks to see how big of a baby we will be delivering.  (Don't worry they said this about Caleb the whole pregnancy and Julie's weight gain is exactly the same as it was with Caleb.)   The kidneys still look great but the doctor recommended to have the little guy double checked by our urologist once he is born, just to make sure their is not any kidney issues.

Caleb was able to come to the sonogram with us and he has been really interested in the baby since then.  So, we pulled out his baby book and funny thing is, the sonogram pictures look very similar.  Praying for the day we get to meet this little man.

November 2010-already!

We have had a fun month!  As we were going through the pictures of this month, we realized the words of this month should be "interesting outfits."  Not only is Caleb very opinionated about the clothes he wears but also the socks, shoes, hats, jackets and pajamas he has on.  We are realizing the crazier the better.  Thanks to Mimi and Mammy for providing some pretty fun and crazy socks to add to our collection.  He is also preferring no clothes at the moment-he often takes off his pants-perfect timing for winter.  (As we type this, he took off his clothes before nap).

For the month of activities: We went to the Dallas Museum of Art and had a fun time in their children's play/art area.  Caleb ran through this curtain of beads at least 100 times.

Caleb is becoming quite the little "reader".  Love his outfit-daddy's basketball shoes, jeans, and his pajama shirt from the night before.

We are not renewing our membership to the Arboretum, so this was our last trip for a long time-sad!   

The past 2 years, Craig has held Caleb up behind this horse thing to make it look like he is riding it.  But this will have to suffice this year.

We are getting ready to make the big move to a BIG BOY bed.  Caleb loved mattress shopping!

Nothing says November, like raking leaves and Daddy has a big helper now! We remember raking leaves last year thinking how much fun it will be to have Caleb out there helping us.

Thanksgiving post will eventually happen but we didn't have a camera (SAD!) and we are waiting for family members to send us theirs-which may never happen-sorry!
