Ranch - Memorial Day 2012

3 Day Weekend=RANCH!!! For Memorial Day, we headed down to Austin for a night to break up the drive, then left for the Ranch with Craig's Parents.  We stopped in Medina at The Apple Store for a yummy lunch.  Sadly, Davis had just fallen asleep and only got a short nap.  (Remember this for later on in the trip).
A quick picture at this precious store
Caleb is quite to poser these days
Couldn't wait for a mule ride with 3 generations of Wennings
After a big hike it was time to try out the natural spring water...a little cold but still so fun.
See what we mean about such a poser.
Throwing rocks
Posing again
Splashing is so much fun
Because there was SO much rain at the ranch a few weeks ago there were some natural changes to the creek bed.  There was water where there normally wasn't, there were LOTS of rocks both big and small that had moved down stream. We included this picture because look just above Davis arm, MeDad is standing on a huge pile of rocks, that whole section isn't normally there.  Amazing how God's rain could bring so much change!

Day 2: After a LONG night of not a lot of sleep from our great sleepers we were all exhausted.  Remember, we mentioned that Davis didn't nap long on the way down to the Ranch...well, that left us with an overly tired little boy in a small room with 3 other people.  Caleb didn't sleep well either and they were "crying dueling banjos" all night!! Lovely!!! Craig is taking a mid-morning nap and Davis is resting with him.
Caleb feels good
Couldn't wait to sit on the tractor but did not want to be around it when they turned it on
Daddy's turn but we are far away
Zip Line-Caleb is pretty much doing it by himself
Our creek that we swam in yesterday is dried up, so out comes the pool
Mammy brought some fun toys
Where's Caleb?
A yogurt break
So much fun with Mammy
"You talking to me?"
Silly Daddy
"Peek-A-Boo"
"Who Me? I don't have a wet diaper handing down to my knees!"
FYI...If any of you are interested we all slept great on Sunday night and were grateful for an uninterrupted night sleep!!
Thanks Mammy and MeDad for a super fun weekend at the Ranch and spending it with us!

Your kids look really cute! And you’re right, they have quite promising poses. Haha! The ranch has a very homey ambiance. And I must say, the clear water is perfect for a makeshift outdoor pool!

I’m glad you still enjoyed the day in spite of the physical changes in the environment. Anyway, with those two playful kids, who wouldn’t? I’m sure they’re the ones who set the energy. :D I love that picture showing the three generations of Wennings. More than that, I think it reflects what your family loves to do. ;) -->Rodger Ciliberto
