Donovan Family Reunion

After about 2+ years of planning a family reunion, the time was FINALLY here.  In July, 47 adults and 17 kids, gathered in Austin from Hawaii, Oregon, Seattle, North Carolina, Illinois, Las Vegas, Dallas, and Cincinnati.  We hadn't all been together in a few years (now that everyone is married). We had a WONDERFUL 3 nights and 4 days with lots of fun memories.

Here was the shirt that Craig designed
MANY of these pictures were taken by Uncle Mike, I am grateful how he used his talents, once again, to bless our family and this reunion.

On Friday night, most the group was already in town and we met as a whole group for the first time at Rudy's BBQ

Sammy and Avery just adored each other

Anytime there was down time in our weekend, there was always a group at the hotel pool.  It was a great place to gather and stay cool.
On Saturday night, the Cowdens hosted everyone at their house for some yummy Food Truck Burgers.  The kids had a blast!

Davis skinned his knee the first night and swimming didn't always feel good.
Next to the pool was a great sports court and the kids were often found out on it, as well.

Many of our evenings (after the kids had gone to bed) were spent with the adults catching up and comparing bald heads

There were a few that hung around Austin for a few days and did some more sight seeing.  Lucas had fun at the Thinkery!!!
What a wonderful 1st Donovan Reunion!! We look forward to the next Reunion in 3 years in California.  So many memories, laughs, stories, and good times! We are grateful for the Grandma and Grandpa who left a legacy of such great people.

Wenning Time in Austin - July 2014

In July we made it down to Austin for a few days of special family time before the big Donovan Family Reunion.

Avery loves holding on to her brother's shoes when in the car
Our first stop was a picnic lunch with Mammy and MeDad at the park

Mmmmm....Love Chick Fil A and 3 generations
See Saw Fun

Throwing the football with MeDad
She loves cuddling with her Daddy.  All he has to do is pat his chest and she lays her head down on him like this.  So sweet!

Craig's cousin and her family were in town from Hawaii for the Reunion and we went to dinner to have some extra time with them.  We went to a fun Food Truck Park

Uncle Allen jumped in the picture
We spent a day out at the lake with the Cowdens and Geezs and Mimi was SO kind to keep Avery at home so we wouldn't have to come in off the boat for her nap
Sweet girl had no clue the fun she was about to miss out on
We stopped for brunch before hitting the water and these were my silly dates
Tubin' Fun

Daddy joined them on the tube

Flipping, swimming, laughing, and having fun

We had SO much fun on the boat and are grateful for sweet cousins, Aunts, and Uncles!

Mimi gave Avery a bowl of ice cream to make up for the fun she was missing on the boat.

I was able to slip away and meet my sweet friend, Lori's precious new baby girl Madden!!
We then celebrated Mammy's birthday

The Reunion was the next day and we were excited to see our family, even if it was just for a few days!

9th Anniversary - June 25

For our 9th Anniversary, we spent the night in Fort Worth and what a great city it is!  We had some AMAZING meals and saw the sights. First stop was the Fort Worth Stock Yards
Sundance Square

Water Gardens across the street from our hotel
A sweet surprise from the Omni
The "pottery" present, a platter with our name on it
I am so grateful for the last 9 years!  I can't believe God gave me this amazing man!  We laugh together, love God together, cry together, parent together, plan together, argue together, and live this wonderful life together!  I am so blessed and the happiest woman alive!
